Sailing Ships (Shelter In Place no. 15

An improvisation on Chapman Stick that turned into a piece, when I sat down on an afternoon I felt frustrated and stuck and just began to play. The next thing I knew, I had a piece.

In my mind, I had the image of a tall ship under full rig sailing on blue ocean under clear skies, the water surface showing moderate chop but no big swells. A perfect day for making a lot of distance under sail. The music for me evokes being in motion, flying over the water.
