Being Post-Modern

Dangerous Odds featuring Greg Howard

recorded in studio at Laughing Cat Studio, Fort Atkinson, WI
aired WORT-FM December 6, 1996

Here is another Best of Dangerous Odds session retrieved from out archives, and newly remastered. This session, featuring special guest Greg Howard, was recorded in late November 1996, and first broadcast on WORT-FM Madison on December 6, 1996. This remastered release of the recording session is the first time the public has heard this music and poetry since it was first aired.

Chapman Stick player and teacher extraordinaire Greg Howard was passing through Wisconsin on a performance tour in late 1996. Greg and I had become acquainted through the online Stick player community, so we connected, and when I let him know about Dangerous Odds, he agreed to sit in with us for one of our regular recording sessions for our radio show on WORT-FM in Madison, WI.

We recorded at Laughing Cat Studio, on the free evening Greg had to sit in with us. Also joining us for this session was our friend and drummer extraordinaire Siggi Baldursson.

To say that this session was special is and nuderstatement, because of these two top players joining us. It makes you raise your own game as much as possible, just to keep up.

Dangerous Odds is very pleased to release this very special recording session now.

The Best Of Dangerous Odds series of albums represents a broad selection of live and studio performances, made in the 1990s of spontaneously improvised music to accompany performance poetry. We will release several albums' worth of material in this series, as old tapes are digitized and remastered, and in some cases remixed.
