Refuge/Refugee, Part 1 (Shelter In Place no. 11)

Arthur Durkee: Chapman Stick

Multi-track improvisation for Chapman Stick. Music arising directly from feelings about rebellion, taking refuge, being a refugee, in times of burning. Lost homes, lost family, human beings lost to murder, to the destruction of community and neighborhood, to the horrors of inhumane and unequal treatment. How poorly we treat each other. How much we have yet to learn about equality, about love, about community. The knife in my brother’s or sister’s heart is the knife i my own heart. We are One.
